As on-the-go lifestyles become the norm, technology is increasingly becoming more mobile. Embrace the latest from this rapidly developing arena with Near Field Communications.
Near Field Communications (NFC) is a set of standards for smart phones and similar devices to establish radio communication with each other by touching them together or bringing them into close proximity, usually no more than a few centimeters.
The potential for NFC is endless. Examples of applications include:
Instant payments and coupon delivery using handsets, as we currently do with credit and debit cards
Marketing and exchange of information such as schedules, maps and business cards and coupon delivery using NFC Marketing tags
Payment for items by just waving the mobile phone over NFC capable devices
Transferring images and posters for displaying and printing via mobile phones
The GSM Association (GSMA) is the global trade association representing nearly 800 mobile phone operators and more than 200 product and service companies across 219 countries. Many of its members have led NFC trials around the world and are now preparing services for commercial launch.
